Cash Prizes: Coaches will be eligible for cash prizes based on the maximum winning positions secured by their participants. Additional Criteria: After determining winning positions, the coach with the highest number of participant registrations will be considered for additional cash prizes. The total number of participants in each game category should exceed 50 to qualify the CASH PRIZES criteria.

Inter Community Sports League

  • 30 Mts dash(Top 10 runners from each community)

This is a 30 Mt running race.

Suggested guidelines to shortlist participants who will represent the community for the Finals

Note down the fastest finisher’s running time and select the top 10 children based on their finish time.

Participants: Open to boys and girls from Grade 3.

Teams: Each community can send up to 6 participants (3 boys and 3 girls).

Rounds: The competition will consist of multiple rounds, depending on the number of participants, with the top shooters advancing to the next round.

Competition Structure

Shooting Zones:
The competition will be divided into three zones on the court:

Zone 1: Layup (1 point per basket)

Zone 2: Free throw line (2 points per basket)

Zone 3: Three-point line or a designated spot closer for younger participants (3 points per basket)

Time Limit:

Each participant will get 100 seconds to make as many shots as possible from any of the three zones.

Players can move freely between zones during the time limit.

Ball Type:

A size-5 basketball will be used, which is appropriate for Grade 3 students.

Rounds:

First Round: All participants compete, and the top 50% based on total points will advance to the next round.

Final Round: Top participants from the first round will compete for the highest score.

Scoring

Layup (Zone 1): 1 point per successful shot

Free Throw (Zone 2): 2 points per successful shot

Three-point Spot (Zone 3): 3 points per successful shot

Rules & Regulations

Foot Placement:
Participants must shoot from behind the designated lines for each zone.

Tiebreaker:
In the case of a tie, an additional 30-second round will be held, where participants can only shoot from the free throw line (Zone 2).

Fair Play:
Participants must respect the referee’s decisions, and any disputes will be resolved by the organizing committee.

Awards:
Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place based on total points scored in the final round. Medals or trophies will be given to the top shooters.

This competition emphasizes fun and skill development, allowing younger students to gain confidence in their basketball abilities!

This is a Basketball hoop activity. The top 10 participants from each community will be in 1 group representing their community. Each participant will be given a chance to throw the ball in the basket. The team with max baskets will be the winner. In case of a tie another round will be played.

  • The group can comprise of a mix of girls and boys.

Format: League

The tournament will follow a league format, where teams will compete against each other in a round-robin format. The top teams from the league phase will advance to the knockout rounds.

Segment 1: Grades 4 & 5 [ Boys & Girls ]

Segment 2: Grades 6 & 7 [ Boys & Girls ]

This tournament is open to students from grades 4 to 7. Separate competitions will be held for boys’ and girls’ teams.

Basketball: 1 boys’ team (maximum of 8 players) and 1 girls’ team (maximum of 8 players) from each Community.

  1. Team Composition: 5 players on the court with 3 substitutes allowed.
  2. Match Duration: Each game will consist of 4 quarters of 8 minutes with a 2-minute break between quarters and a 5-minute break at halftime.
  3. Substitutions: Unlimited substitutions can be made during breaks or stoppages.
  4. Scoring: 2 points for a field goal, 3 points for a three-pointer, and 1 point for a free throw.
  5. Time-Outs: Each team is allowed 2 time-outs per half.
  6. Fouls: A player fouls out after accumulating 5 personal fouls. Team fouls will result in free throws after the team exceeds 5 fouls in a quarter.
  7. Equipment: Teams must wear matching jerseys with numbers visible. Each team must bring its basketball for warm-ups.
  8. Referee’s Decision: The referee’s decision is final.

These rules and regulations are designed to ensure fair play and smooth conduct of the tournament.

Format: League

Segment 1: Grades 4 & 5 [ Boys & Girls ]

Segment 2: Grades 6 & 7 [ Boys & Girls ]

This tournament is open to students for Grades 4 & 5 representing Segment 1 and students from Grades 6 & 7 representing Segment 2. Separate competitions will be held for boys' and girls' teams.

Maximum Participants

  • Football: 1 boys’ team (maximum of 8 players) and 1 girls’ team (maximum of 8 players) from each Community.
  • General Rules & Regulations for 5-a-Side Football
  • Team Composition:
      1. Each team will consist of 5 players on the field (4 outfield players + 1 goalkeeper) with up to 3 substitutes.
      2. Teams can make rolling substitutions without stopping play (except for the goalkeeper).
  • Match Duration:
    1. Each match will consist of two halves of 15 minutes each with a 5-minute halftime break.
    2. If a knockout game ends in a draw, the match will proceed to penalties.


  • No Offside Rule:
      1. There will be no offside rule in 5-a-side football, allowing more fluid attacking play.
  • Fouls & Free Kicks:
      1. Standard FIFA rules for fouls and misconduct will be followed.
      2. All free kicks are direct.
      3. The goalkeeper is not allowed to leave the penalty area. If they do, the opposing team will receive an indirect free kick.
      4. Goalkeepers must throw the ball instead of kicking it when restarting play.
  • Substitutions:
      1. Rolling substitutions are allowed at any stoppage in play. Players can enter and leave the field, except for the goalkeeper, where a stoppage is required.
  • Scoring:
      1. Goals can be scored from any part of the field, but not directly from the goalkeeper’s throw.
  • Ball Out of Play:
      1. The ball is out of play if it completely crosses the boundary lines (sideline or goal line).
      2. Sideline restarts are taken with a kick-in, not a throw-in.
  • Equipment:
      1. Players must wear shin guards and appropriate footwear.
      2. Each team must wear matching jerseys with visible numbers.
  • Disciplinary Measures:
      1. Yellow card: A player must sit out for 2 minutes (power play for the opposing team).
      2. Red card: The player is sent off and cannot be replaced, leading to the team playing with one fewer player.
  • Referee’s Decision:

The referee’s final decision must be respected by players and team officials.

Conduct a preliminary match of interested

General Rules & Regulations:

  • Boys and Girls matches will be conducted separately.
  • 2 teams( 1-Boys team & 1- Girls team) allowed for Segment 1 -Grades (5 & 6) and 2 teams( 1-Boys team & 1- Girls team) allowed for Segment 2 -Grades (7 & 8) per community.
  • The tournament will be conducted at Meru International School, Miyapur/Tellapur on a synthetic basketball court.
  • Rules of the Basketball Federation of India shall be followed.
  • Each candidate must bring their original school ID card.
  • Teams should be prepared to play more than one match a day even with a notice of an hour prior to the match.
  • The tournament committee reserves the right to alter the fixture and to refuse or accept entries of any team without assigning any reason thereof.
  • No Protest will be entertained whatsoever.
  • Only two Quarters and Duration of the Match Segment-1 8+2+8, Segment-2 10+2+10.
  • Each team has 12 members (5+7) substitution.
  • All matches will be conducted in the Knockout method.

Winners and runners-up individual medals for winners and runners-up teams.

Participants: Parent & Child (Mixed Doubles) (Age: Open for All)

General Rules & Regulations:

  • Only Doubles matches will be conducted in a single set for 21 points in preliminary rounds. Semis and finals will be conducted for 15 points (best of 3 sets).
  • All matches will be conducted in the Knockout method.
  • Participants should carry their own Badminton Racquets, shuttlecocks will be provided in school.
  • The players do not change their respective service courts until they win a point when their side is serving.
  • Badminton Doubles is a match consisting of 21 points.
  • Every time there is a serve – there is a point scored.
  • The side winning a rally adds a point to its score.
  • At 20 all, the side which gains a 2-point lead first, wins that game.
  • At 24 all, the side scoring the 25th point, wins that game.
  • A side has only one ‘service’.
  • At the beginning of the game and when the score is even, the server serves from the right service court. When it is odd, the server serves from the left court.
  • If the serving side wins a rally, the serving side scores a point and the same server serves again from the alternate service court.
  • If the receiving side wins a rally, the receiving side scores a point. The receiving side becomes the new serving side.
  • The players do not change their respective service courts until they win a point when their side is serving.
  • Referee’s decision is Final.

RULES & REGULATIONS

  • For Kata, Participants will perform their Kata Routine. The Judges will decide the winner based on technical criteria adopted.
  • KUMITE: The schedule for Weighing in will be communicated prior to the championship.
  • In the event of no participation or only one participant in the Kumite weight category, that specific weight-category event will be cancelled. The conduction or cancellation of the Kumite event will be confirmed only after the Weigh-In is completed.
  • Weight categories may be merged if there are less than two participants in the category, with the consent of both players and coaches.
  • In case of one participation post-weigh-in the category will be cancelled and no medal will be awarded to the participant.
  • If a Participant is absent for the weighing-in process, he/she will not be eligible to participate.
  • No other combat sport uniform will be allowed at the Kata or Kumite performance.
  • Any Participant found over age or with any manipulation in his/her documents, will be disqualified without any kind of prior intimation.
  • Participants must wear their appropriate uniform for the sport of Karate.
  • Participants must carry their own protective gear.

  • Each Participant can participate in only one age group.

SPORT RULES & REGULATIONS (KYORUGI): 

  • Participants must be in appropriate uniform for the sport of Taekwondo. The Participants are expected to get their own gear apart from a head guard & chest guard.
  • No Participant will be allowed to participate without complete Taekwondo gear, comprising of the following:
  • Head Guard (provided by the Tournament Organizing Committee)
  • Chest Guard (provided by the Tournament Organizing Committee)
  • Shin Guards
  • Step Guards
  • Abdomen Guard
  • Gum Shield
  • Elbow Guards
  •  A Participant must be accompanied by a coach/parent / guardian.

    General Rules & Regulations (POOMSAE ):

    Taekwondo is an event where all athletes shall demonstrate the chosen Poomsae for a max of 2 minutes. The Poomsae is made up of Taekwondo techniques of blocking, striking and kicking. … Striking techniques should begin at the hip and use the appropriate follow through. Balance, control and proper foot positions should be used with kicking skills. 

    All athletes shall perform 2 compulsory or chosen Poomsae within a max. 60 seconds break.

    The following checkpoints must be followed strictly: 


    1) Maximum 2 participants from each school are allowed to take part in the competition.

    2) Participants must perform Recognized WTF Poomsaes.

    2) Participants must Show the original Aadhar Card.

    3) Participants must wear a taekwondo uniform with the correct belt. 

    4) Participants are not allowed to wear any type of shoes. 

    5) Male participants are not allowed to wear a T-shirt under taekwondo uniform. Female participants are required to wear a T-shirt under their taekwondo uniform. 

    6) Participants may not wear any type of jewelry. 

    7) Referee decision is the final.

     

    TOURNAMENT FORMAT (KNOCK OUT)

    1.Each Participant can participate in only one age group.

    2.Poomsae  duration for U-12 & U-14 boys and girls will be 2 minutes/routine

    3.KYORUGI match duration for U-8, U-10, U-12 & U-14 boys and girls will be 2 minutes/match

Format: Knockout 

Segment: Grade              : 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 & 9 to 12 

General Rules & Regulations: 

Time Control: 20 min each (in case draw 5 min each will be played)

    1) Participants must show their school ID card or valid school issued document which clearly states the grade that they are studying in AY 2024-25


    3) Participants are not allowed any type of electrical devices (including wrist watch)

    4) Arbiter decision is the final and bending.

Mystic Yogis contest is a demonstration of asanas (postures) based on the theory of yoga-shastra “posture performed with perfection and relaxation without strain”

Rules and Regulations for the Competition

  • Compulsory Asanas: Every competitor must perform 3 compulsory asanas.
  • Asana Selection: During the competition, the asanas will be determined by a draw system, selected on the spot.
  • Additional Asanas: Judges will choose 3 asanas from the syllabus. In addition to these, competitors must perform 2 more asanas of their choice, excluding the compulsory asanas. Each competitor will perform a total of 5 asanas.
  • Scoring: Each asana carries a maximum of 10 marks, with a total score of 50 marks.

Judgement Criteria:

  • Approach to Final Posture: The manner in which the final posture is achieved.
  • Accuracy of Posture: The correctness of the final position.
  • Balance and Calmness: The ability to maintain balance and calmness during the retention period.
  • Grace: The grace and fluidity of the posture.
  • Returning from the Final Position: The manner in which the competitor returns from the final position.

Judgement: The decision of the judge’s panel is final.

Dress Code:

  • Boys: Competitors must wear skin-tight sports shorts paired with a T-shirt, or a gymnastics costume, or a swimming costume.
  • Girls: Competitors must wear a skin-tight T-shirt, or a gymnastics costume, or a swimming costume.

General instructions:

  • There is a registration fee for all competitions given in the Registration form.Please note that the registration fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
  • All updates (schedule/draw/results etc) will be published on https://meruinternationalschool.com/meru-vijetha/ It is the participant’s responsibility to keep checking the website.
  • No request to modify the match schedule will be due to the fixed event schedule.
  • All matches will be started on time and no late arrivals will be considered. If any query is there related to any issue it should be addressed before the match. Walkovers will be considered if teams/individuals don’t report on time.

I understand that the school has made all the arrangements for the event, keeping in mind the well-being of the participants and their safety. I undertake not to hold the school management, the principal, or the staff responsible or liable for any damages, injury, accidents, or casualties caused as part of the event due to incidents out of the school’s control. I also confirm that the school management has the right to change the itinerary and the program due to unforeseen circumstances.

  • Community to nominate 1 person for ease of communication with the school.
  • Community POC to ensure that participants are regularly updated about the event.
  • All participants to register for Round 1 by filling in the form at https://forms.gle/BRFdaRr94QJomx277
  • Filling out the form doesn’t imply selection in the finale.
  • The final participant list mentions those who represent the community to be sent by the community POC. This will be the final list that will be considered for the community.
  • Students must carry their School ID card or any other valid document issued by the school that they are currently studying in, which clearly states the Grade that the student is studying in for the academic year 2024-25 to prove their
  • grade’s identity. For age-wise competitions carry an Aadhaar Card to validate age. Any issue in this rule will be taken as disqualification.
  • As it is an Inter-community sport, it is both the participant and the community choice to include the members representing their community team.
