Meru International School celebrated World Blood Donor Day today on 18.06.2022 by conducting a voluntary blood donation camp at Meru school campus in collaboration with the Red Cross Society. The World Blood Day is celebrated to sensitize common people about the necessity and safety of participation in Blood Donation Programs for Community benefit.
Mr. K. Madhan Mohan Rao – General Secretary & CEO Indian Red Cross Society, Telangana State Branch; Dr. Reddy – Director Indian Red Cross Blood Bank; Mr. S. Prashanth – PRO Indian Red Cross Blood Bank; and Mr. S. Narsimha Reddy – Chairman – Indian Red Cross Society, Rangareddy District where the Guests of Honor for the blood donation drive.
53 units of blood were donated by the donors. Besides this, awareness lectures were delivered by the tiny tots of Grade 1 – Meru International school and the Guests of Honor of the event, highlighting the importance of blood donation and its role in saving precious human lives. This was a student driven blood donation where the grade 10 & 11 student volunteered and ran the whole show successfully.
In addition to this, we celebrated Father’s Day for Grade 1 students. There were many fun activities which MERUvians enjoyed with their father. Meru parents also participated in the Blood donation drive post the Father’s day celebration.
