DEAR Day, also known as Drop Everything And Read Day, is a day dedicated to the joys of reading. It is a day where students and teachers alike pause their usual academic routine to indulge in the simple pleasure of reading for pleasure.
This DEAR Day, we encouraged our students to bring their favorite books from home, or choose from a wide selection of books provided by the school. During designated periods throughout the day, everyone in the school – including teachers – sets aside their regular work to read quietly and enjoy the books they have chosen.
DEAR Day is not only an opportunity to foster a love of reading among students, but it also helps to create a sense of community within the school. Everyone gets to read together, enjoy stories and information that inspire, educate, and entertain.
