Meru University Fair

The Meru University Fair was organised by Meru International School, Miyapur on Saturday, 21st January, 2023. The fair was organised by the Career counselling cell at the school to bring representatives from over 60+ universities across the globe so that they could guide students & parents about the courses available, and the career options they get to choose from and answer queries related to college applications and entrance examinations.

The university stalls at the Meru University Fair were bustling with activity as children enthusiastically moved from one stall to another collecting the brochures and speaking with university representatives such as GITAM, Alliance university, Manipal University, Azim Premji University, Woxen University to name a few. The university representatives enlightened the children that there are numerous courses to explore in the field of Science, Math, Engineering, Business Administration, Design, Humanities etc.

Parents and children participated in workshops conducted by experts from the attending universities on Design, LAW, Hospitality, STEM, Liberal Arts, and Life Sciences. 

Abhinav, a Grade 9 student who attended the fair with his friends says “ I am astounded by the career opportunities available in the field of Graphic Designing, Animation, Film making. I have understood that Design is a broad topic and there are so many interesting courses which I can pursue.”

Niyati Apoorva a Grade 10 student who attended the workshop on Tourism & Hospitality says” The workshop guided me about  the undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Tourism and Hospitality, the career prospects in this field and how I can apply for these courses”

Mr. Biju Baby Head of School – Meru International Schools and Mr Satyaki Banerjee, Principal, Meru International School, Miyapur were of the view that it is important that students be well informed from the very beginning about the studies that they can pursue in future. They feel that conducting the Meru University fair annually is the right step in this direction. They are happy that apart from Meru students even external school students and parents could benefit by attending the fair.

All in all the Meru University fair was successful in providing valuable information and sharing useful resources so that students can make informed decisions about their future.
